I hate having a bunch of short posts, but I've been super busy and haven't had time to write my usual 10 page dissertations. I really do want to complete my goal of a post a day in November.
I encourage you all to vote today! I've got the fun of deciding between Conrad Burns and Jon Tester for Senator. I'm mostly republican, although I've been extremely ashamed of our country leaders and their handling of foreign affairs. If I vote for Tester, that will leave Montana with a mostly republican population and a democrat as governor, and two democratic senators. Hmmmm. Yet I don't like Burns anymore either. What to do, what to do. I predict that Tester will win, no matter how I vote. The best news of all is that we no longer have to endure the stupid smear campaigns of all our politicians. I just want the regular commercials back, thank you!
On a better note, last night I went through photos of our trip to Hawaii that we were lucky lucky lucky to be able to go on in January of this year with our kids. It was business related, but we added an extra week onto the business trip and enjoyed ourselves immensely. I had never been to the beach before that time.
The photo below is the first and only sandcastle I've ever made. I made it with my daughter and son on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. Note the groovy seaweed embellishments! And Waikiki isn't the best beach...Kailua had a much more impressive, less rocky, less populated beach by far! The big island (Hawaii) had even better beaches, but we didn't get a chance to do much there due to the business trip. Someday I'll post more about Hawaii.
Back to work!!!

After 4.75 inches of rain yesterday, that beach in Hawaii is looking pretty darn good.
SML,
I am also "mostly republican" but only by a 55/45 ratio. I am considering doing something that I criticize people for doing...punching the Vote All Democratic button. I am so discusted with the republican party right now.
I probably won't do that actually because it is mindless, but my voting this year will definitely lean in the direction of the donkey.
There have been years where I wrote my name as a write-in vote, because I didn't like either candidate. I got 1 vote for president in the last election.
Just to let you know that you don't have to vote for burndoggle or testicle...you can vote for me :)
Love the picture - the sand, the waves... Ah, sigh.
Could we make that Brunch charter flight go Montana-UmeƄ-Hawaii?
NOW YOU'RE TALKING, Gen! Seriously! I'm loving the idea more and more. Of course, I hate swimsuit shopping......that kind of puts a serious damper on the idea for me, but I'm still in if you are!
That was the first time you'd be to the beach? Ever?!?
Wow.............
Wow...
I'm speechless. I mean, I don't know what I would do if I couldn't get to the beach. (Actually I can tell what I would do if I couldn't get to the beach, because that's mostly been my life for the last five years. I'd go f*cking INSANE!)
I love the beach. Sigh. It's so cleansing and peaceful. It's where I go so the wind can blow the cobwebs out of my brain.
Hm. Perhaps a trip to Rehoboth is in the cards....
I still can't believe that was your first trip to the beach. Ever. Wow.
I'm impressed, the sand castle shows architectural influences from India. :)
I need a good time right about now! Not Hawaii my baptist preacher brother lives there and he would be a joy kill!
BTW, I am a libertarian. Can't stand the other parties...so once again no choices for me!
Every castle should have tourette gardens!
SML,
Hawaii is sounding fabulous right now! I haven't been there since high school. It holds a special place in my heart (for reasons which shall remain silent).
The Northwest is being pounded with rain, more than they have ever seen. There is flooding. Three houses along the Oregon coast are on the brink of dropping into the ocean! We have only seen a little rain in Southern Oregon, but the beach sounds absolutely wonderful!
:)
This is a short post? And by the way, WHAT, exactly, is wrong with short posts? Keeps people from rolling their eyes and skipping to the end. Mostly.
