I will survive!

I'll be glad when the holidays are over. Cramming school concerts, programs, Christmas parties, shopping (which I detest) and wrapping into my already busy life just about does me in each year.

I want my life back.

I'm drawing, which makes me happy, and I know the rest of the stuff will get done - it always does. In the meantime, I kind of wish I had a personal shopper who would just do it all for me while I spend my time drawing.

Hey, I can dream, can't I??

On a different note, I'm wondering why NOT ONE OF YOU wrote me to tell me I'd misspelled the word 'portrays' in my about me section in the upper right corner of my page. I spelled it PROTRAYS. Sounds like something you'd find in a sperm donor lab.

Maybe some people were hoping to donate sperm.

I would shop for you, but... If you are going to Sears you can order it online and pick the item up in the store. Heck, you would be in and out of the store in 5-10 minutes.

Hang in there...only 14 days to go.

My goal each year is to be done with xMas shopping by Thanksgiving. Surprisingly, I have yet to meet that goal. Oh well. Next year I will start shopping before thanksgiving to give myself a chance.

Yeah for the Holidays! I think I'm going to celebrate Festivus this year. I think I'll dominate the feats of strength portion. My wife has lots to say during the airing of grievences.

Gluby, oh beHAVE!

Jazzy, I'll PAY YOU to shop for me, even from afar!

BR, I'm not sure about your goal. You make me feel even worse I waited until 2 weeks before Christmas to even start!

Simeon, you crack me up so hard!! Airing of grievances, indeed.

I've thought about becoming a personal shopping gal Friday. Actually, in D.C., there are folks who do that and more--like stand in line for you at the passport office, to pay bills (back before online bill paying), etc. Maybe I should consider that as an employment option. Hm.

As for misspelling portrayed, we all probably missed it because your eye only reads the first and last letter of words and your brain fills in the rest.

For eampxle, tihs setennce is icorenrct, but you pobralby raed it as tihs:

For example, this sentence is incorrect, but you probalby read it as this.

Portray.... Protray.... It's all in the eye!

Shopping is the worst. But hey, when I'm a millionaire I'm taking you to Christmas market in Lübeck, Germany, every November. Shopping would never be boring again!

Meanwhile, I would never complain about your protrays. I love your protrays!

I despise shopping. This year I started all the way back in May. Hey I saw stocking stuffers - I don't pass these things up - stockings are VERY important. My big dislike...right after shopping...is wrapping. Last year I did well, wrap everything when you buy it. I have fallen off the wagon. Not good.

Janet, I didn't know that, very interesting. Thank you for the tip.

Hi hi. :)

**comforting hug** I'll be your personal shopper. Send me a list. I can hit all the major stores in downtown SF in one day.

TOTALLY OFF TOPIC RANT - but I fucking hate BLOGGER BETA. I can't post on anyone's blog who is Beta.
Can Google get with the fucking program? I tried commenting on JOOMs, Gluby's and several others this morning and I got ZIPPO results.

I'm going to fling myself on the floor in a moment. But first, time for another coffee. Sorry about all the "fuckings." Not that all that "fucking" is a bad thing.

Rant over.

I need retail therapy? Were we talking about shopping?

SML,

That is just my goal. I never even start before Thanksgiving, so I never reach it.

Oh well...next year for sure.

Sideon,

I think I know what your problem might be, if it's anything like what happened to me -- Firefox 2.0. I have no idea why, but I cannot do anything with Beta if I'm in Firefox (which is my preferred browser).

What happens is it just keeps redirecting... loading... redirecting... loading... ad nauseum. For logging in and blogging, I have to use IE (and I HATE IE). Try using IE to post to a beta-hosted blog (say, for example, mine :) ) and see if it makes a difference.

VERY irritating, though. I wasted a lot of time trying to create an account and a blog and even to log in, and Firefox is VERY widely used. Is anyone else using the recently-released version of Firefox (2.0, not 1.5 or whatever was before) and able to log in without problems in it?

L,

Don't tempt me! You know if you asked, I would do it for you.

to gluby & sideon, I am using firefox 2.0, and do not have a problem with blogger beta. I converted my site, and have had no problems commenting on anyone else's blog. Don't know what to tell you. Feel free to drop me an email if you want more specific debug assistance.

On the protrays, that's funny. I'm usually one of those anal spelling & grammar types too. To be honest, I glanced at your "about me" once or twice, but didn't even look at it much after that. So sue me. :)

Yeah, Mattman, I was a little pompous when I got pissy there about nobody noting I had made a big typo. Thanks a LOT for the reality check.

Mattman,

WHOA! It works! It was a damned cookie problem! I am posting this in glorious, beautiful Firefox.

SML,

I saw it as playful pomposity and pretend pissiness, not pompous playfulness and pissy pretense. The former is fun, the latter is lamentable.
