I have found that curious several times myself. More and more paper comes in a non bio degradable package...what's that all about? So much for recycling.
P.S. You can recycle it. Just throw it in with all of your plastic grocery sacks and return it to your local grocery store. (Assuming your local Albertsons or Safeway has bag recycling, of course...)
Sorry to hijack your comments, but I was just wondering whatever happened to your Dear SML advice column/posts? There weren't too many of them, but it was super interesting to read them, and you gave great advice!
