Colder than a. . .

You know it’s cold when your teenager actually wears his winter coat to school. You know it’s DAMN COLD when he admits he’s going to brave eating school lunch in the cafeteria for the first time this year because he doesn’t want to go outside to get fast food.

-25 degrees Farenheit with the windchill today. I actually have a snowdrift on the floor inside my office door where the snow gusts in through the gaps ~ and it’s apparently cold enough inside not to melt. The wind is howling and whistling at my door ~ the perfect sound effect to the cold I'm experiencing.

I damn near got stuck in a snow pile beside the sidewalk as I dropped him off at school. The snowplows only clear the main streets, so side streets like those surrounding schools are ignored and cars are left with the daunting task of plowing through huge piles of snow. Turning your car off the main plowed street onto a side street isn’t good either because the pile of snow the plows leave at the entrance to the side streets is thick. I admit it is kind of fun to fishtail out of control a little while plowing through the muck, but that hardly makes up for the rest of the inconveniences bitter cold weather produces.

We actually had to shovel off some grass for our poor dachshund. He whines, quivers, shakes, and refuses to go near the back door in the morning during weather like this.

He learned that from me.

So sorry I am not there to share in this experience!! (NOT!) I am sorry that the roads are bad, and the weather is cold, although I have been there and done that and have no desire to go back to it thank you very much!!! :)

Yeah!!! Snow, Cold, Winter.

It was below zero as a high all weekend, but now we're in the single digits, so it's kind of a heat wave here.

I LOVE IT!

Better than all those pollen-producing trees and harvested grains .. . allergies, yuck.

It has been unusually cold here. It is clear, and freezing instead of cold, gray and wet. Our cats keep trying to find the door to summer.

Ok, it's been cold here - but not THAT cold. I love winter and everything, but I think I'm about ready for spring.

Getting ready to move back to the SLC, and they got 18" of snow there yesterday.

I know you don't want to hear this...it's 61 degrees at 7pm where I live. For me, I would take MT snowdrifts any day. I have great memories of driving to school in my VW bug with no heat and the temperature hovering at -15and literally being "snowed in" our house because the drifts came halfway up our front door. I will remember you as I put on my shorts and flipflops tomorrow!

Poor Chewie! But then, if you were only three inches off the ground, you wouldn't want to go out in the snow either!

I wish it would snow here for a few days... Really sock us in. It would nice, too, if it would stay cold enough to kill off some of those f*cking Asian Tiger mosquitoes I so hate!

Stay warm!

Pretty dang freezing here too. I think it's currently -5. I ran outside to my car for literally 30 seconds... by the time I got back inside my slightly damp hair was frozen stiff.

Let's see. The actual low temp in my state last night was 36 below zero. When it's that cold the wind chill really doesnt matter. Twenty above this weekend will actually feel warm.

I'm thinking the snow could be a cold hinderance to my comfort (especially if my belly is only three inches off the ground) but it's a wind that is so cold it blisters, that I hate. Girlfriend, I'm thinking you need some weather guard on your office door. I will not bitch when the office temperature gets to 68 again, I will just keep your snow drift in mind and put on another sweather.

and here I was complaining about 2C (36F), shame on me. Hope it warms up soon!

Ughh, I remember cold like that - it's awful how it gets right in between your shoulder blades and makes your spine ache!

When does spring start to make an appearance in MT?

I hope you have those ugly little doggie sweaters for your dog.

It's cold here. I actually had to wear non-flip flops this past week. *Sigh*

But snow? We don't get snow.
